Welcome to Center Student Ministries!
Here at Living Oaks Church, we desire our students to know, trust, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, we believe that everything in life is about Jesus (Ephesians 1:9-10; Colossians 1:15-19). He is God, the Creator, and the Author of Life (John 1:1; Acts 3:15). He deserves our worship; he deserves our lives (Romans 12:1).
For students, it’s easy to compartmentalize life: “School belongs at school.” “Fun is with my friends.” “God is on Sundays.” However, the Bible teachings something completely different: all of life (school, relationships, free time, family, fun, work, friendships) is to be an act of worship to God! Romans 11:36 illustrates this truth:
FOR FROM HIM AND THROUGH HIM AND TO HIM ARE ALL THINGS. TO HIM BE GLORY FOREVER. AMEN.
Thus, Center Students Ministries exists to make Jesus the center of students’ lives. As the pastor, it is my prayer that this ministry will serve to that end, providing effective teaching and discipleship that will magnify Jesus and call students to faithfully follow him.
Jesus deserves to be at the center of: our thoughts, our dreams, our aspirations, our goals, our affections, our actions, our values, our conversations, our relationships, our hopes, our time, our joy, our desire, our worship, our schedule, our homes, our jobs, our hobbies, and every other area of our lives.
CENTER STUDENTS MINISTRIES EXISTS TO MAKE JESUS THE CENTER OF STUDENTS’ LIVES.
With our new name comes a new focus—a new goal: to do everything in our power (as leaders and parents) to demonstrate the centrality of Jesus in all things. May we be faithful to live cross-centered, gospel-centered, Jesus-centered lives.
